Adjectives - Прилагательные

Adjectives are used to describe people and objects. All the adjectives listed below are the masculine, singular nominative case. However in the Russian language the ends of adjectives change to agree in gender, and in case, with the noun it describes. Adjectives can also appear in short form, or their comparative form. You should refer to the grammar section of this site for details on how to convert or decline each adjective.

красный - red

зелёный - green

жёлтый - yellow

синий - blue (dark)

голубой - blue

оранжевый - orange

коричневый - brown

громкий - loud

дорогой - dear, expensive

красивый - beautiful

крепкий - strong, tough

лёгкий - easy

маленький - small

медленный - slow

молодой - young

мягкий - soft

новый - new

острый - sharp

первый - first

печальный - sad

плохой - bad

последний - last

приятный - pleasant

простой - simple

скорый - rapid, quick

скучный - boring

сильный - strong, powerful

спокойный - peaceful

старый - old

строгий - strict

сухой - dry

счастливый - happy

толстый - fat, thick
